CARIBOU, Maine — The Prisoner of War/Missing in Action remembrance ceremony scheduled on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou has been canceled.
According to the cemetery committee, they have canceled the event due to concerns about crowd size and social distancing requirements related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The committee said they are anxious to return to normal operations but must put public safety first.
