From lumber to hot tubs,

Rathbun’s has it all

Rathbun Lumber Co. in Presque Isle has provided building materials and recommendations to area residents since 1947. As a member of Lumbermens Merchandising Corp., the largest independent lumber and building materials buying group in the United States, they have access to all the latest products at very competitive prices, and their knowledgeable sales staff is known for offering good advice and solutions to everyday problems that homeowners encounter.

“Today’s customers are more sophisticated and informed, and want to know about the latest developments in the building industry,” said Alden Rathbun, who owns the business with his wife, Pat. “Today’s building products are a new generation; we’re no longer quite the same lumber yard as your parents’ generation, although we try to offer the same friendly and personal feel that we’ve always had. Creating and maintaining good customer relationships is a priority with all of our employees, who go out of their way to meet each customer’s needs.”
Today’s customers also want their homes — especially kitchens and baths — to be up-to-date with the latest decorating trends.
“We have a building products showroom and a large kitchen and bath showroom, as well as a full-time design consultant on staff. The company offers computerized design for kitchens, baths and decks,” said Pat, noting that Rathbun Lumber offers free quotes and estimates for any and all building projects.
On the fun side, the company also sells a line of hot tubs from Sundance Spas, and has recently received a new shipment.
“These products feature state-of-the art technology and provide another way we can help our customers enjoy their decks and sunrooms,” Pat said. “There is a trained technician on staff to handle any problems, and financing is available.
“For the customer who likes to be greeted by name and deal with friends, we’re the store for you,” she said.     Rathbun Lumber is open from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 764-4444.
