Volunteers keep Patten pantry running

PATTEN, Maine — The Patten Community Food Cupboard is one of the newest members of the Aroostook Agency on Aging/Retired Senior Volunteer Program in southern Aroostook.

This volunteer-driven organization is located in the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church and opened 10 years ago. Jean Howes has managed the pantry for two years.

Consumers in Patten, Stacyville, Sherman, Island Falls, Crystal, Mount Chase, Moro and Hersey are greeted by volunteers every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon, as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at the same time.
