Long Lake Library wins Spirit Award

The Long Lake Public Library in St. Agatha was recently presented the Maine 2022 Spirit of America Foundation Award in recognition of its many years serving educational, informational and cultural needs of St. Agatha and surrounding towns.

Every year the Spirit of America Foundation presents awards for volunteerism and service in more than 100 Maine municipalities.

“Your commitment to volunteerism is an excellent example of true Maine spirit in giving back to your community,” wrote Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows to the library. “Thank you for your dedicated service and best wishes to you on this well deserved recognition.”

The Long Lake Public Library officially opened on July 22, 2007, and was led for many years by co-founder and longtime board president, Jackie Ayotte. Lauren Paradis currently serves as president.
