A special campaign directed by Tim Horton’s Restaurants in Aroostook County has raised $6,500 for Cary Medical Center’s Pink Aroostook Breast Cancer Awareness and Support Program. The “Smile Cookie Campaign” was held in May for the second year in a row and doubled last year’s donation. Proceeds from the sale of the cookies are donated to the selected charity. Registered Nurse Cindy Blanchette, who coordinates the Pink Aroostook Program expressed her appreciation to Tim Horton’s.
“This is just wonderful,” said Blanchette who is a breast cancer survivor. “These funds will allow us to help so many more women as they face the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis. We appreciate the support of Tim Horton’s as well as the many businesses and individuals who purchased the cookies this year.”
Pink Aroostook is a breast health program designed for support, advocacy, education, and awareness of breast health issues in northern Maine.
