Loring Job Corps electrical student Ketia Crompton has been selected as the student ambassador to represent all of Job Corps and the Home Builder Institute at the 2025 International Builders Show being held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The trade show running February 24-28 is one of the largest in the country and attended by thousands. While the thousands of industry professionals attend the multiple exhibits at the trade show, Crompton will be part of a 6-person display team where the selected students from Job Corps will be representing the skills learned from training platforms of the HBI and Job Corps training programs.
Training programs being highlighted for the show are the HVAC, plumbing, facilities maintenance and electrical trades. Crompton received the honors of being the only electrical student selected for the trade show, and during the event will be demonstrating her trade skills learned through the Home Builder Institute training models while also engaging the thousands of show participants throughout the trade show on her positive Job Corps student experience .
Crompton was selected out of thousands of student entries who were nominated by their instructors and centers throughout the nation. She was selected for her trade knowledge, work ethic, maturity and overall demonstrated commitment to the Loring electrical program. Eric Hale, the Loring electrical instructor, said, “Her positive attitude and desire to make those around her also strive for success shined through and served as even more of a reason for her selection.”
Crompton, originally from Lowell, Massachusetts, is 23 and has been enrolled with Loring Job Corps since October 2023.
Hale announced her selection at the recent all student awards assembly, which resulted in a standing ovation from the entire center student body. “I know she will represent the entire trade, as she does every day with unsurpassed dedication and professionalism,” Hale said.
