CARIBOU, Maine — The Aroostook Hospice Foundation, owner of the Aroostook House of Comfort, will host its 3rd Annual Walk for Hospice  at 9 a.m. — with registration at 8 a.m. — on Saturday, Sept.13 at the Caribou High School track and trails network. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Aroostook House of Comfort, the region’s only inpatient hospice facility, which provides compassionate end-of-life care in partnership with  Northern Light Home Care & Hospice.

This year’s event is proudly presented by Event Sponsor, Greenlaw Electric, LLC, whose generous $5,000 gift provides significant support for  the Walk and its mission. The event will once again be held in loving memory of Dr. David Jones, a longtime champion of hospice care in Aroostook County.

“Greenlaw Electric is honored to support the 3rd Annual Walk for Hospice,” said Mike Greenlaw, owner of Greenlaw Electric LLC in Fort Fairfield. “As a family-owned business based here in the County, we understand the importance of neighbors helping neighbors. The Aroostook House of Comfort provides invaluable care during life’s most difficult moments, and we are proud to contribute to this mission.”

The walk is non-competitive and open to participants of all ages and abilities. Four trail options will be available, including the accessible track at Caribou High School. Volunteer trail leaders will be stationed throughout to assist participants, particularly those unfamiliar with the area. The Aroostook Hospice Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to Caribou High School for generously donating use of the  facility. The setting offers a beautiful and welcoming space to continue this impactful fundraising tradition.

Registration is open now and will remain available through the morning of the event, but participants are encouraged to register by Saturday, Aug. 23 to guarantee an event T-shirt. Registration can be completed online at www.RunSignUp.com/AHOCwalk.

Participants are also encouraged to create individual or team fundraising pages through the registration platform. These pages can be linked to Facebook to enhance community engagement and expand outreach. Personalized trophies will be awarded to the top individual  fundraiser and the top fundraising team.

A raffle will also be held during the event, featuring a Blackstone Iron Forged 36″ Griddle with Hood and Deluxe Accessory Bundle, generously sponsored by S.W. Collins Company. The prize is valued at $650, and raffle tickets are available for $10 both in advance and on the day of the event.

Sponsorship opportunities remain available at multiple levels. Local businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to support the cause and receive recognition for their role in sustaining compassionate, end-of-life care in Aroostook County.
