PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center recently received a $15,000 grant from the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust for operating support to help local youth, adults and families to connect and express themselves through the arts and creative process.
This gift directly fuels Wintergreen’s mission to stimulate creativity and curiosity through the arts in Aroostook County.
In 2024 Wintergreen served over 3,970 family members through its creative preschool, outdoor learning program for young children, after school and summer arts programs and a wide variety of workshops. Wintergreen supports local artists through monthly gallery exhibitions. Signature holiday events welcome family members of all ages.

Operating support funding from the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust allows Wintergreen to meet its goal of intentionally serving economically challenged families through a scholarship program for its After School and Summer Arts Programs.
During the 2024-25 academic year, Wintergreen’s After School Arts Program served 156 children through visual and digital arts classes. Affordably priced at $75 per 6-week session, scholarships are also offered to remain inclusive of any child who wants to participate. No child is turned away thanks in part to funding from the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust.
Our 2025 Summer Arts Camps served 287 children. Wintergreen’s Art with HeART program in partnership with the Presque Isle Housing Authority celebrated its ninth summer in the Birch Street Neighborhood. This unique relationship-building program is FREE to all area youth.
Established in 1988, the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust connects people and places through the arts, culture, and the natural environment. The Trust supports conservation, preservation, culture, and education throughout Maine. To learn more, visit www.morton-kelly.org.
