PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle High School tennis teams each defeated Houlton High School/Greater Houlton Christian Academy on April 28. The Wildcat boys won 4-1 and the girls swept 5-0.
In boys singles matches it was Presque Isle’s Jacob Benner 8-3 over Cole Watson in No. 1 singles; Garrett White 8-0 over Jaeden Wu in No. 2 singles; and Cameron Locke 8-4 over Will Baillargeon in No. 3 singles.
The Wildcats won in No. 1 doubles with Duke Deschene and Quinn Graves defeating Miles Berthiaume and Jacob Thibodeau 8-3.
Houlton/GHCA’s Dayton Shields and James Baillargeon earned the No. 2 doubles victory 8-2 over Ethan Bosse and Alex Wasson.
The Presques Isle girls won all five matches. In No. 1 singles play it was Alice Korzekwa 8-0 over Ryan Perfitt; Sabine Wells-Puckett 8-0 over Brooklyn Philbrook in No. 2 singles; and Kapri Griffeth 8-2 over Karyssa Kenney in No. 3 singles.
Meredith House and Mackenzie Vigue won 8-4 vs. Stephanie Tuttle and Morgan Nuccio in No. 1 doubles. Payton McKinley and Avery Dixon won vs 8-2 vs. Hannah Flewelling and Anna Johnson in No. 2 doubles.
The pair of Natalie Putnam and Payton Monahan won 7-3 against Addi Nadeau and Ellie Berthiaume in an exhibition match.
