OAKFIELD — A pending change for the Oakfield Universalist Church has one organization looking for a new home.
Nature’s Bounty Food Pantry, which had been operating out of space in the church basement for just over two years, is now looking for a new home, said Debbie Gray, executive director of the food pantry.
“We are in desperate need of a new home,” she said. “We feed people from Monticello to East Millinocket and we are determined to remain open.”
Gray said several hundred people are supported with food pantry supplies each month, and more calls are received on a routine basis.
“We turn no one away,” she said. “These are hard times for the less fortunate.”
In addition to a new home, the food pantry is also looking for turkeys and hams for their Christmas dinner baskets.
