Image HOULTON and DANFORTH – James Wesley Cropley, 73, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2008, in Houlton, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Danforth, the son of Wesley and Geneva (Young) Cropley.
    He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, as well as golfing, traveling and fishing.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Glenna (Reed) Cropley of Houlton; three children, Timothy James and his wife, Catherine Cropley, Lori Stocker and her husband, Russ, all of Hermon and Lisa Cropley of Bangor; five grandchildren, Christopher and Emily Stocker, Colleen, Conner and Cameron Cropley; three sisters, Violet and Jud Frye, Veronica and Robert Crone, all of Danforth and Sheila Estabrook of Amity; one brother, Franklin and Margrete Cropley of Braintree, MA; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kinney, Una Cropley and Wilma Cropley; a brother-in-law, John Crone; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Susan Frye. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Tommy Young, Fred Cropley, Glenn Cropley, Barbara Cropley, Marie Krautler, Anita Barnes and Glenna Crone.
    Friends called 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Calvary Gospel Assembly, Danforth, where funeral services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Robert Root officiating. Spring interment will be at Danforth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, care of Bowers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 579, Houlton, ME 04730. The family would like to thank Dr. Abouleish, the nurses and staff at Houlton Regional Hospital, who not only cared for Jim so well, but who became such good friends to our family.
