Houlton – Billy Wayne Hanning, 52, died unexpectedly February 5, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1955, at Houlton, the son of Kenneth Hanning and Donna I. (Michaud, Hanning,) MacDonald.
Billy enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing, made several trips to New Hampshire to visit friends and go to Bike Week and NASCAR races. He joined the National Guard in Oklahoma and then in Houlton after moving home.
Billy is survived by two sons, Robert Douglas Hanning and his friend Angelia, and Brian Wayne Devoe all of Houlton; one daughter, Billie Jean; one granddaughter, Emma Marie Devoe; six brothers, Ken and his wife Millie, George, Gordon, Gerry, Rodney all of Houlton, Fred of Bangor; and seven sisters, Gloria Prentiss and her husband Robert of FL, Brenda Friedman, Sharon Hanning, Sheila Bither, Dorothy Hanning, Leslie Hanning all of Houlton, Mary Ross and her husband Scott of RI. He is also survived by his many friends.
Funeral services were held at Dunn Funeral Home 1 p.m. Friday. Friends called at the funeral home 11 a.m. until time of the service. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
