IN BASIC TRAINING – Standing in front of the Army National Guard car that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. drove to the winner’s circle during the Bud Shootout are, from left, Pvt. Kyle Thomas and his recruiter Sgt. Rob Greenier of the Army National Guard. Thomas shipped out on April 9 to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. for his basic training and advanced training. He will be returning home in August.
