On Thursday, July 2, the Houlton Fair hosted a show for 4-H youth.
The day started bright and early. Molly Thorton was the judge with Katie Sloat as the ring master. Lynn Fitzpatrick and Jean Sloat did an awesome job of checking people into the show. Alyssa Fitzpatrick also did a very good job announcing the placings of each class.
The first class was grooms, which Brianna Hanington won a first-place ribbon with an embroidered horse cooler from Jean’s Serendipity. In the walk trot division of classes, Emily Simas won reserve champion and Ariel Farrar won grand champion.

In the junior classes, Monica Sloat received reserve champion in both English and Western classes. Kristen Farwell won Grand Champion in both English and Western classes. Sam Keegan also showed in the junior classes. She did very well and placed in every class she entered.
For the senior Western classes, Autumn Beaulieu won Reserve and Brianna Hanington won Grand Champion. Callie Foster, Desiree Foster and Megan Fitzpatrick also showed in these classes and did very well.
For the senior English classes, Brianna Hanington was named Reserve Champion and Desiree Foster won Grand Champion. Autumn Beaulieu, Callie Foster and Megan Fitzpatrick also rode in these classes and did well.
The County 4-H youth would like to send their condolences to Christy Fitzpatrick for the loss of her mother, and also to thank her for everything she does for 4-H. The group would also like to thank everyone who helped make the 4-H Houlton Fair possible.
