Special events in Bridgewater
By Jann Bonkowski Votaw
The Bridgewater Historical Association has announced that this Thursday (Oct. 28) will be the final night of its Thursday night music program until the spring. We wish to thank everyone who came out and joined us. We all had a great time. We have a special event planned for that evening. During the music program, the BHA will be presenting the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department with a check for the purchase of a vest for their canine officer. Most of the money for the vest was raised at our “Dance For The Dogs” held in July. We continue to raise money for vests to help other area canine officers.
We will also have potluck finger food that night, so if you would like to join us for that please bring something to share. The music will be from 6-9 p.m. with a break for the presentation. Come out and support the BHA and the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department.
The Bridgewater Historical Association will hold its annual Halloween Dance on Saturday Oct. 30 from 8 p.m. to midnight at its hall. Tickets for the dance are $6 per person if you are in costume or $8 per person without a costume. There will be door prizes and costume prizes. Snacks, soda, water and coffee will be provided. Other food items will be available. “Outside In” will provide live music. So get your costumes ready and come down to the historical hall and have a ball. It will be a spooktacular event.
A huge thank you goes out to all who helped with our yard sales — the workers, the donors, and the shoppers. We plan on having another one in the spring. We’ll keep you posted. For more information about the BHA and their events please contact us: Bridgewater Historical Association, P.O. Box 341, Bridgewater, Me, 04735.
