Once upon a time there was a giant named Jolly. Jolly the giant was never a giant when he was a kid. Jolly was getting older and older. He was about 15 when he had a growth spurt. Jolly was 16 when he reached up to 17’ 11” long. Jolly was the tallest kid in his classroom and the whole school. The other kids were making fun of Jolly because he was a giant.
Jolly ran home as fast as he could to tell his mom that he did not want to go back to school ever again. His mom said, “Well you have to so you can get into a good college.” Jolly did not want to go back to school or go to college. So he packed up his stuff and ran away from home. Jolly’s mom was getting more and more sad when she found a note that came from Jolly. The note said, “Dear mom, I’m not going back to school or home. P.S. I left some stuff so you can remember me.” Jolly’s mother started to cry when she was reading the note. When Jolly’s dad got home from work he heard about the bad news. Jolly’s mom and dad called the cops to find Jolly.
The cops looked and looked for a long time. The cops told Jolly’s mom and dad that they couldn’t find their son. But one place they didn’t check is the cave that was right across from Jolly’s old school which is shut down.
Jolly was a grownup now and he had not come out of the cave in years. So he had to find his food and water inside the cave. Eventually he grew bigger than the cave, so he had to find a new home. He couldn’t find a home until he came to his old home. He began to think to himself, “I had a home all this time, it was just waiting right here for me.”
