Rec now accepting registrations for programs

    The Houlton Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the following activities.
    G-Force Laser Tag — Friday, April 8 at Houlton Rec Center for ages 6-12 years from 5-7 p.m., with youth ages 12 years and older from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. To register, call 532-1310 by April 7.
    Sneakin’ In Science — Thursday, April 21 at Houlton Rec Center from 9-10:30 a.m. for ages 7–12. The topic is What do Owls Eat? The instructor is Sara McQuarrie. Cost is $12 per child. There is a limit of 15 children. Registration is required. Call 532-1310 by April 13.
    Red Cross Babysitters Course — Friday, April 22 at Houlton Rec Center from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for youth ages 11-15. Cost is $50 per youth and there is a class limit of 12 youth. The program includes full-day training, special portfolio, training CD and certificate. Registration is required. Call 532-1310 by April 13.
    Zumba Fitness Class — The Houlton Recreation Department is now taking registrations for a new “Zumba” Fitness Class. Classes will be held each Monday at 7 p.m., each Thursday at  6:15 p.m. and each Saturday at 10 a.m. Classes will start on April 30 at the Gentle Memorial Building. Rachel Distefano will be the instructor for this eight-week program.
    Registration is limited to 25 participants. Cost for the program will be $55 for Houlton residents and $75 for non-Houlton residents. To register, call the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310 by April 30.
