Contestants sought for Presque Isle Pageants

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The 2007 Little Miss/Junior Miss Presque Isle Pageant will be held Saturday, May 5 at the Presque Isle Middle School Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.
     Girls enrolled in the first and second grade who attend Pine Street Elementary School are encouraged to enter the Little Miss Pageant. Girls who are in sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade who attend Presque Isle Middle School are encouraged to enter the Junior Miss Presque Isle Pageant.
“All girls in these groups are encouraged to run for the title of Little Miss and Junior Miss Presque Isle,” said Claudia Stevens, executive director of the United Way of Aroostook. “It is an opportunity for them to develop personal skills, as well as have a good time.”
The funds raised from this event will be donated to the United Way of Aroostook to help the agencies that respond to health and human services needs.
To obtain an application, students should go the main office of the school they attend. If you have any questions in regards to the pageant, call the United Way office at 764-5197. Deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. March 19.
This year’s pageant is under the direction of Chloe Shaw and her daughters, Julie and Amy Shaw.
