Two men wanted in connection with a Woodland burglary several weeks ago, that left a the owner of a used car dealership and his mechanic with serious injuries, were among those arrested at a Mapleton residence March 15.
Following an anonymous tip, Maine State Police found Brian Saunders, Blaine Wilkins and Dustin McGlinn hiding out at the Pat Rodgerson residence on Main Street in Mapleton. Police indicated the three men were found hiding within the home.
“Patrick Rodgerson, 25, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental administration,” said Sgt. Tom Pelletier, of the Maine State Police.
According to Pelletier, Saunders was wanted for a robbery and aggravated assault. Saunders was also charged with felony burglary and violation of condition of release. He is being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
Wilkins, 22, was arrested for outstanding warrants, felony burglary and violation of condition of release. Wilkins was also being held at the ACJ.
McGlinn is being held on probation violations.
Pelletier said state police later returned to the Rodgerson residence and discovered Brian Holmes, 27, and Tony Clayton, 28, removing merchandise from the home.
“Holmes was arrested for outstanding warrants from Maine and Colorado. Holmes is charged with being a fugitive from justice, burglary, theft and violating condition of release for a bail violation related to charges stemming from an armed robbery in Caribou,” said Pelletier.
Holmes is being held at ACJ.
Clayton was charged with theft.
According to Pelletier, numerous firearms were recovered at the residence.
“It was determined that the firearms had been stolen during a burglary of a Presque Isle home sometime earlier,” said Pelletier.
The Presque Isle Police Department log indicated the weapons came from a local residence and items taken included rifles and a handgun.
The investigation is ongoing, with further charges pending.
“The arrest of Saunders ends a search for him after an arrest warrant was issued for his involvement in the aggravated assault and robbery of a Woodland car dealer. Saunders is accused of severely beating 60-year-old Roland Fortin and 39-year-old Arnold Bubar and robbing Fortin of between $11,000 and $12,000,” said Pelletier.
