NEW SWEDEN — Spring cleaning is ridiculously easy in the world of children’s cartoons; merely whistle a magical tune and in rush woodland critters to sweep out cobwebs and scrub trash cans.
While Thomas Park in New Sweden may seem like the appropriate setting for such a fantastic tale of cleanliness, the only way park officials will be able to get the site spick-and-span will be with the help of fellow bipeds — not birds with push brooms.
Members of the Thomas Park Committee have announced that the Thomas Park Spring Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, May 11 starting at 8 a.m.
Volunteers are needed to help with the yard work and other spring-cleaning chores that will help the park look its best.
Anyone interested in lending a hand is encouraged to bring a rake and a song in their heart.
“It won’t take long if we get enough help, so please come out and lend a hand,” asked committee member David Spooner.
