Lois Ruth Lloyd, 67, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. Lois was born August 24, 1949 in Caribou, Maine to Kenneth Lloyd and Emily (Doody) Lloyd. Lois graduated Caribou High School in 1967 and in her early years worked for UPS.
Upon leaving UPS,Lois joined the United States Air Force where she served her country for 18 years until she retired for health issues. The great State of Alaska was one of her many duty stations and she made it her home for over 35 years. Although she lived in Alaska, Caribou was always home. She would return every year to visit friends and family. Lois loved Alaska and could hardly wait for the Salmon to run so that she could go fishing and camping. Every year she would can her salmon catch and send much of it to family and friends in the Lower 48.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents and a great niece Marissa Lloyd. She is survived by her siblings: Carolyn Lloyd (Thomas) Riley, Cynthia Lloyd, and John Lloyd (Connie); nieces and nephews: Judy Mackin, Lynn Stansfield, Tracy Johnson, Thomas Riley, Kristin Lloyd and Kenneth Lloyd. Funeral Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lois’ name to the VA Clinic or the Marissa E.
