Agency on Aging plans commodity food box distributions in March

Getting food and good nutrition is something all people need to remain healthy and happy. Whether it is a meal in a dining center, one delivered to the home, or a shelf stable commodity to help extend the monthly food budget, staff at the Aroostook Agency on Aging can connect older persons or those who are disabled to a service that will help meet their needs.

Washburn artist returning to Agency on Aging Gallery

Aroostook Agency on Aging is exhibiting the work of local artist Filomena Irving  in March as part of the Artists for Aging initiative. Her opening reception will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday,  March 3 during Presque Isle’s First Friday Art Walk.

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent Knights of Columbus have announced the winner of their ongoing lotto fundraiser for the previous week. The Super 50 Lotto winner for the week of Jan. 23-29, 2023, was Linda Coltart of Madawaska, who won the sum of $378.

Author Pelletier delivers reading at UMPI Feb. 2

The University of Maine at Presque Isle will present a special evening with award-winning author Cathie Pelletier on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. in UMPI’s Campus Center, when it hosts a reading and book signing focused on her latest book, “Northeaster: A Story of Courage and Survival in the Blizzard of 1952.”
