During their final meeting in Augusta Thursday, the task force voted 10-to-6 against building a new school due to concerns about the estimated cost and potential negative impacts on current CTE programs in area schools.

On December 1 the University of Maine at Fort Kent nursing department hosted a Pediatric Health Fair at the UMFK Sports Center. Over 450 children from surrounding communities, kindergarten to grade 6, attended the event which showcased 36 booths of varying health and wellness topics appropriate for children.
The center is needed because age demographics for NMCC students have changed with 126 students being 35 and over.
Three University of Maine at Presque Isle students participating in the Fine Art Program’s Senior Thesis class showcased their work in the BFA Student Mini-Show, an end-of-the-semester group exhibition, on Dec. 7 in the Pullen Gallery, located on the third floor of Pullen Hall.
