For the third year in a row, the Central Aroostook Humane Society has been awarded and recognized for achieving a “no-kill” status for 2025. This means that the humane society saved 90% or more of the dogs and cats that entered its care last year.
At 7 years old, Oscar still hopes that someone will see the incredible cat waiting to love them. PAWS of Fort Kent says Oscar is everything people dream of in an orange cat: friendly, affectionate and happiest when he’s by your side.
Cats are super soft, cuddly, cute and a lot of fun. They do make great pets. They will entertain you, comfort you, lower your stress, reduce your chance of having a heart attack, and chase away loneliness.
Every shelter has that one cat who quietly wins over everyone he meets. For PAWS of Fort Kent, Prince is that cat. At 6 1/2 years old, this handsome long-haired black kitty loves everyone, and is always ready to trade a gentle purr for a few pets.
I talked to a friend recently who is a dog lover like me, and sadly, she lost her big dog to a freak accident.
