Ark Animal Sanctuary – Week of February 13, 2019
I thought I would tell you a little bit about the people behind the scenes. The ones who are the backbone of the Ark — the ones who work so hard and care for all of our animals.

A few weeks ago we were asked to help with a dog named Elliot. Elliot was purchased out of Missouri to be a stud for a breeder here in the southern part of Maine. Elliot is 11 months old and is a Bernese Mountain Dog.
The Ark has a kitten named Mouse and many of you have been following his story. For those of you who do not know, Mouse was born at The Ark just about four months ago.
The Ark is currently at capacity. Everyday we receive phone calls from people asking us to take their cats and many people get upset with us when we have to say “no,” we have no room.
Things have been extremely busy at The Ark and we are now on overload with kittens. Right now we have 25 kittens and that does not include adult cats.
Two weeks ago we received a phone call from a young lady saying that she had found a newborn kitten in the grass and wanted to know if we could help.
I would like to thank everyone who came out and bought a pie to help towards Lucky’s vet bills.
A few weeks ago we took in a small orange and white kitten. He is what we call a “Manx,” meaning he has no tail
As many of you know we have been given permission to trap stray cats at the trailer park across the street from the sanctuary.
As many of you are aware a cat named Bandit went missing from his new adopted home well over a month ago.
