I had a new friend ask me about hummingbird feeders. It seems that she had run out of the red hummingbird food and the store also was out. She asked if she could make her own and  did I know how. Yes, we make our own and the hummingbirds love it.

I am excited at the change of seasons. I feel I can breathe when I go outside. I find I pause before getting into the house or the car. In the colder weather, I rush to get from point A to point B. It feels like I just keep on keeping on just to get through winter. I’m sorry for the brief rant, but I’m excited with the change of weather.

I’ve had enough winter, and I’m ready for warmer weather. We’ve certainly enjoyed these past days of warm and sun! I can’t wait to get into the yard and brighten it up. Winter leaves everything looking so … brown.

It is cool today. I like fall weather. I love the smells, the crisp air, the colorful leaves. So, get outside, clean out the garden, pick up the yard, roll up the hose, shut off the outside faucet. Winter is coming whether we are ready or not.

So many of us are growing a garden this year. Many haven’t grown a garden before or in many years.  We’re home, we wear masks when we go out, and we social distance. In the garden you don’t have to wear a mask.
