Seeing the skies of Presque Isle in the end of August brings a magical view from the windows of the library. As the days grow shorter and sunset creeps its way closer to align with our closing time, the hot and bright 7 p.m. hour transitions itself over to slight breezes and grabbing a jacket when going out for the evening. 

The first steps as city manager

I’m just a few weeks into my first 90 days as Presque Isle’s city manager, and I want to share a bit about where we’ve started and where we’re heading together.

In an unprecedented move toward ending houselessness within the city, the Presque Isle City Council, in partnership with city staff, has taken decisive and compassionate action over the last month to respond to the growing encampment crisis with the seriousness it demands.

Join us in celebrating our nation’s 250th year

In 2026, the United States of America will celebrate its 250th anniversary (a “semiquincentennial”).  Many states, Maine included, have formed semiquincentennial commissions to observe this historical landmark.
