Honoring a faithful member

Friends, family, board members and employees of the Central Aroostook Humane Society came together Jan. 26 to honor a very special longtime volunteer and advocate for the animals, Carolyn Cheney of Presque Isle.

Cold weather common sense

How very fortunate we have been this winter to experience mostly mild temperatures and calm days. It’s certainly a rarity. Unfortunately, the weather recently took a bitter cold turn with nights well below zero and days in the single-number temperatures. And then there is the windchill factor to consider — yikes. Open house delayed

One important notice: Our open house at our new Central Aroostook Humane Society animal shelter has been postponed. It was scheduled for Jan. 25, but now we are looking to hold it in early spring to welcome the public and to properly celebrate this wonderful accomplishment.

Ollie’s about to be 2

My Ollie boy will be 2 years old in January. It has gone by fast. I remember thinking the first month I brought him home, will things ever be normal again?

Our many blessings

As a new year begins, we find ourselves reflecting on the many moments that have shaped our year.

Weighing in

All of us at the Central Aroostook Humane Society hope that you enjoy a beautiful holiday season and have a merry Christmas.

The power of pets

Just a reminder that we have moved into our new shelter. Our new address is 210 Cross Street in Presque Isle.

Our big move is here

Well, it has become a reality. After almost two years of meetings, planning, countless hours of grant writing, letter campaigns, fundraising and pleading our cause, last weekend we celebrated “moving day” at the Central Aroostook Humane Society.

When you adopt a pet

Our move will be much easier with fewer pets to move, and because we have so many dogs, the Central Aroostook Humane Society has decided that for the month of November, we will be offering all dog adoptions for a $25 flat fee.
