VERA KERVIN, LINNEUS – Vera Kervin, 87, Linneus, died Jan. 13, 2018, in Houlton. She was born May 2, 1930, in Linneus, the daughter of John and Margaret (Lawlor) Kervin.
Vera lived her whole life on the family farm, which what was her “Piece of Heaven.” She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, loved nature watching all animals and watching the crops grow, worked for a local dentist for several years and also did home care. She received her moose permit in 2017 after waiting 40 years, to save a moose.
Vera is survived by many cousins and friends: a cousin, Wayne Coyle; an adopted nephew, Dave Winship and his family; and close friends, Barb Brewer, Alice Adams and Kathy Reeves. She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Floyd and Eugene.
Friends may call noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Deacon Albert Burleigh officiating. Spring interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Houlton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local animal shelter. The family would like to thank the staff at Madigan Estates for their care and compassion for Vera.
