CARIBOU, Maine – Roland J. Cyr Jr., 79, passed away Thursday August 2, 2018, at a Caribou health care facility. He was born September 5, 1938 in Caribou, the son of Roland J. and Hortense (Belanger) Cyr.
He was a hard worker, providing for his family, working for Cyr Brothers for 39 years, The Caribou Theatre for 34 years, and the Shop and Save for 19 years. He and his wife, Judith, recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Judith (McAleer) Cyr, of Caribou; two sons, Kevin J. Cyr and his wife, Gail; Kirk A. Cyr and his fiancée, Janet Lee Marr, all of Caribou; two daughters, Pamela A. Rideout and her husband, Ray, of Gardiner, Susanne M. Murray of Cheney, Washington; a brother, Louis Cyr of Wichita Falls, TX; three sisters, Anita Knutla of Monument Beach, MA, Dolores Marsden of Amelia, Ohio, Ruth Hallier of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren; Trevor, Devin, Tia, Brendan, Alec, Danielle, Dakota, Dylan, Carl, Ashley, and Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Kandice, Harper, and Xander; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
