FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine – Don Wilson, 74, husband of Judith H. (Nelson) Wilson, passed away Saturday evening, November 3, 2018, at his Fort Fairfield home, following a brief illness. He was born January 21, 1944, in Boston, MA, the son of Francis S. and Edith (Tuttle) Wilson.
He graduated from high school in Wellesley, MA, in 1962, and went on to further his education at Boston University, graduating in 1966 with a B.S. degree in communications. Don served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, and was married to Judith H. Nelson on February 14, 1988. Don enjoyed a very long successful career in television and radio broadcasting, both in the Boston and Northern Maine areas, including at Channel X Radio, retiring in 1998.
He was predeceased by his parents; and is survived by his wife, Judith of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Melissa B. Wilson and her husband, Craig Peppiatt, of London, England, and Kristin D. Wilson and her husband, Zouhair Benjdya, of Gilbert, AZ; stepchildren, William C. Parsley of Alexandria, VA, Denise R. Jalbert and her husband, Chris, of Presque Isle and Jaime M. Parsley of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Linda W. Dillman of Santa Fe, New Mexico; grandchildren, Miriam Pellegrino of London, England, Safa G. Benjdya of Gilbert, AZ, Harleigh E. Brewer, Olivia C. Parsley, Cameron J. Jalbert, all of Presque Isle, and Keely M. Bailey-Parsley of Alexandria, VA; and nieces, Jennifer D. Pasek and her husband, Glenn, of Evanston, IL, and Edith S. Dillman and her husband, Jonah Stanford, of Santa Fe, NM. Don also leaves behind several extended family members, and many friends.
Friends may call Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 7-9 p.m. at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Friday, November 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the interment at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
