PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Probus Club of Aroostook held their regular monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 16, in the Reed Commons building at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle.

Club president Dave Maxcy called the meeting to order, introducing two outstanding recipients of the Probus scholarships: twins Ryle and Randon Mortland.

Each young man told of their present education status as well as their future goals. They both have their own smartphone repair businesses with resale and online marketing, and have been successful at this enterprise since they were l6 years old.

After completing their studies at NMCC in business administration, Randon and Ryle plan to complete their four-year degrees at Machias College in Machias. Both are interested in banking and finance, and plan to enter the world of business in private companies in their future endeavors.

Maxcy said the Probus Club was extremely proud to present scholarships to these “very ambitious and worthy students.”

Dana Crory challenged members to a mental recall exercise. Following this, Janet Snow gave a reading on “Good Friends,” especially those we keep as we get older. Growing old, she summarized, means being free of worries and deadlines with less to lament about and much more freedom.
