Tractor pull June 10

The Northern Division of the Maine Antique Tractors Club (MATC) is hosting a tractor pull on Sunday, June 10, beginning at 11 a.m. at Penobscot/McCrum Frozen Foods on the Parsons Road in Washburn. MATC members from across the state will be attending this daylong event to practice pulling the Eliminator. Fee to MATC members is $10 for the entire day. Money raised from the pulls will help support the services of Hospice of Aroostook.
In addition, MATC members will have the opportunity to entertain the crowd by competing in two separate obstacle courses. Audience members will be asked to sponsor their favorite MATC member for only $5 per obstacle course. MATC members can run the obstacle course as many times as they want with each $5 sponsorship. Once again, the money raised will benefit Hospice of Aroostook.
Maine Antique Tractors Club was founded in 1994 by a handful of tractor lovers. Today the club has grown to over 500 members and sponsors. The Northern Division of MATC began several years ago and more recently acquired its own Eliminator, providing more opportunities for Aroostook County MATC members to host tractor pulls in the County.
MATC is pleased to provide proceeds from this event to Hospice of Aroostook in honor of two MATC members who have recently died. Since 1984, Visiting Nurses of Aroostook’s program, Hospice of Aroostook, has provided care for those with a terminal illness. Their mission is to ensure that hospice care is available throughout northern Maine to all who need it. In 2006, Hospice of Aroostook cared for 147 patients and their families.
“We are honored to be selected by MATC as the non-profit organization to receive money from this event. Hospice is such a vital service and we’re looking forward to educating even more people about what we do on June 10,” explained Robin Holmes, volunteer manager for Hospice of Aroostook. “This is going to be a fun event. I’m looking forward to a great day!”
Concessions will be available. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs. For more Information on the MATC and directions to the event, visit www.maineantiquetractorclub.com or www.visitingnursesofaroostook.com or contact Robin Holmes at 498-2578.
