PRESQUE ISLE – A local woman sustained minor injuries when another driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Dudley and Center streets around 2:05 p.m. Monday.

Kim Cyr, 42, of Presque Isle, was operating her 2002 Jeep eastbound on Cedar Street when Victor Coroniti, 37, of Caribou, failed to stop at the stop sign on Dudley, causing a collision between the two vehicles.
“She struck him when he went out in front of her,” said Sgt. Laurie Kelly, of the Presque Isle Police Department.
Coroniti was traveling northbound on Dudley when the accident occurred. He was operating a 2005 Ford Ranger.
The impact caused Cyr’s vehicle to flip on its driver’s side, causing extensive damage. The Jeep was towed from the scene by Cowett’s Towing Service, of Presque Isle.
“Cyr sustained cuts on her left hand and was transported by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center for treatment,” said Kelly.
Damage to Cyr’s SUV was estimated at $7,000. No estimate was available for Coroniti’s pickup.
Officer Larry Fickett, of the PIPD, assisted in the investigation. The Presque Isle Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
Coroniti was given a traffic citation for failure to obey a stop sign.
