Walk promotes awareness

    PRESQUE ISLE – The Battered Women’s Project will be hosting a domestic violence awareness walk on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Noon at Riverside Park in Presque Isle. Participants are asked to meet at the Riverside Building. There will be a short program that honors the survivors of domestic violence, remembers the victims who have died and celebrates the hope, strength and courage of families affected by domestic abuse.  A group walk through downtown will follow the program. A brown bag lunch will be provided after the walk.     Please show your willingness to support the victims and survivors of abuse by attending this year’s Presque Isle domestic violence awareness walk. This final day of October concludes a month of numerous awareness, prevention and educational activities in towns throughout Aroostook County.  Take a stand against domestic violence and join the Battered Women’s Project in affirming a commitment to a non-violent future.
