    ISLAND FALLS — King-Mitchell VFW Post 7529 in Island Falls, meet the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m.
    The post started May 28, 1946 with 75 charter members, of which 7 are still living, 5 in Island Falls. Wallace Townsend is Commander, Ted Hartin is Quartermaster and Walton O’Roak is Chaplain.
    Upcoming events: The post’s annual supper and turkey raffle will be Saturday, Nov. 17. Supper will start at 5 p.m. The menu includes roast pork and more. Cost is $7 per person. All are welcome.
