Houlton High School will be hosting a book signing for former ESPN radio host and current television star Wayne Soares at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Alumni gymnasium.
Soares will be promoting his new book, “The Power of Your Words and Actions,” published by Summerland.
He will be autographing and speaking briefly at the book signing.
Soares, a nationally syndicated broadcaster, television host and motivational speaker, uses style, humor and energy to captivate his audience.
He has made presentations at America’s biggest corporations; GE, KB Toys, Microsoft, Chrysler and to the halls of distinguished colleges such as Harvard University, University of Notre Dame and Williams College.
Having worked the airwaves at ESPN for six years, Soares has interviewed a host of professional athletes, ranging from Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods to Wayne Gretzky and Tom Brady.
Last summer, Soares could be seen hosting “Regular Joes” at Fox Sports Net studios in Los Angeles. Soares is now working on two television productions, “The Everyday Fan,” a sports/comedy show and “30 Minutes for Tripping,” a show taking the viewer around the country to numerous sporting events.
Soares recently auditioned for a role in “Real Men Cry” with Ethan Hawke, but as an author, his new book is a collection of stories he has heard, lived and wanted to share.
He is a father to two sons, Wesley and Spencer, along with a daughter Jessie.
Soares gives of his time to the Maine and Massachusetts Special Olympics and American Cancer Society organizations.
