LINDENhURST, IL – Morton C. “Pete” Bartlett, PhD, 79, of Lindenburst, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at his home. He was born February 6, 1928, in Bridgeport, CT, was a former 29 year resident of Libertyville, retiring to Glade, TN, for 15 years. Dr. Bartlett was a graduate of the University of Maine and received his Masters and PhD from the University of Michigan. He was a research scientist at Abbott Laboratories from 1958-1987 and was a past president of the Liberty High School Board. He was a veteran of the US Army, member of the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville and during retirement was active with Creative Compassion, providing homes for the needy in Tennessee.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Jean Bartlett; four children, Dorothy (Tom) Bartlett-Svehla of Mundelein, Robert (Shanna) Bartlett of Riverside, CA, Douglas (Charlotte) Bartlett of Ramona, CA, and William (Becky) Bartlett of Nazareth, PA; six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morton and Dorothy (Hoyt) Bartlett. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8 at the First Presbyterian Church, Maple and Douglas Avenues, Libertyville. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
