LEWISTON – Doris E. MacDougall, 68, formerly of the Mid-Coast area, died Sunday, December 16, 2007, at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Fort Fairfield on November 26, 1939, the daughter of Cecil and Clara (Whitmore) Cheney. She attended schools in Fort Fairfield. On June 27, 1959, she married Wendell (Ben) L. MacDougall who died in 2000. She lived most of her life in Aroostook County prior to moving to the Mid-Coast area in 1986. She was a homemaker raising her family but also worke for the Potato Services for six years, McCain Co. for five years and in the falls she worked on the harvester for the Roopes in Presque Isle.
She enjoyed doing crafts with her daughter, cross stitching and crocheting, and loved going to see scary movies with her son Randy. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends during the holidays and traveling with her daughter to Florida and several other states. She enjoyed spending time with her only grandson Kempton Jr. whom she loved very much. She was a member of the Weslyan Church in Presque Isle and attended services at the Nazarene Church in Bath.
She is survived by her daughter Carol MacDougall of Brunswick; her three sons Randy MacDougall of Lewiston, Ricky MacDougall of Windham and Kempton MacDougall Sr. and his wife Claudette of Lisbon; her special grandson Kempton Jr. of Lisbon; her sister Pauline Richards and her husband Richard of Somerville, AL; and her brother Kenneth Cheney of Hollis Center. She was predeceased by her husband and her parents.
There will be no funeral services at this time. There will be graveside services in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Fairfield. Arrangements are under the care of the Guy B. Dostie Funeral Home, 101 Pine St., Lewiston. 782-8221.
