Houlton – Mansfield G. London, 88, died Feb. 9, 2008, at a local health care facility. He was born at East Hodgdon January 16, 1920, the son of Clarence E. And Myrtle (McConnell) London.
Mansfield was a member of the Houlton Methodist Church and the Methodist Men’s Club, Houlton Grange and Rotary. He received his BS from the University of Maine and his Master’s from Colby College and was a member of Alpha Gamma Roe and Alpha Zatta fraternity. He was a Future Farmers of America instructor and taught Agriculture at Hodgdon High School and then Science at Houlton High School until his retirement, and was a member of the Maine Retired Teachers Assoc. and the Nation Retired Teachers Assoc.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Bubar) London of Houlton; one son, Kent and his wife Lori of North Vassalboro; three daughters, Carleen London of Houlton, Leslie Ryan of Sidney, Susan and her husband Roger McBride of Littleton; one sister, Joyce Duff of CT; six grandchildren, Bret Ryan of Sidney, Britt Ryan of Pawcatuck, CT; Matthew McBride of Littleton, Sara and her husband James McQuarrie of Hodgdon, Ross London of No. Vassalboro, Chad and his wife Alison Littlefield of Lewiston; two great-grandchildren, Katie McQuarrie and Brooke Littlefield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul and sister Arlene.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services were held at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Tues. With Rev. Steven Straubel officiating. Spring interment will be in the Littleton Cemetery.
