HOULTON — Houlton Coffeehouse will hold a Mardis Gras party on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
Featured group for the night will be the “Fat Tuesday Holdover Band.” Members include John Pasquarelli, Lewis Wirta, Chris Bond, Tom Kruzich, Jason Howe, David Hutchinson, Jared Carter, Arno Wirta and more.
This group’s first-ever Mardis Gras Party will include decorations, costumes, food and music. The menu features such Cajun favorites as chicken and sausage gumbo, seafood creole, spicy vegetarian jambalaya, king cakes, French quarter fudge pie and more.
Anyone who comes to the party wearing a mask gets one free doubloon to spend during the evening. Admission is free, but the more doubloons you attendees buy “the more fun you’ll have,” say organizers. There is also a Mardis Gras Raffle and a 2008 King and Queen will be crowned. Costumes and dancing are encouraged.
