Thanks to the clean-up crew

To the editor:
    The Selectmen and I extend a sincere thank you to all of the citizens from Smyrna and Merrill (and a couple from Oakfield) who assisted with the recent clean-up day for the communities of Smyrna and Merrill.  
    We want to express our gratitude to the citizens who picked litter, the people who collected all of the bags along the roadsides and to the crew that raked and cleaned at Millstream Park. We also want to acknowledge the citizens who “adopt” a stretch of road each summer and continuously keep the litter picked up all year.  
    We also want to thank the crews from each town who worked many hours installing the flags along the roads; it looks impressive coming into town and seeing Old Glory flying proudly along both sides of the roads.
