    Castle Hill – Bessie G. Carmichael, 88, wife of the late Milford W. Carmichael, died August 14, 2008, at a Caribou hospital. She was born in Woodland, April 6, 1920, the daughter of William and Grace (Newbegin) McEachern.
    She was baptized at and was a member of the Castle Hill Advent Christian Church. Bessie had been employed at Potato Service in Presque Isle, Loring AFB Laundry Service and Taterstate in Washburn.
    Surviving her are five sons, William Carmichael of Presque Isle, Milford Carmichael Jr. and his wife Linda of Houlton, Marshall Carmichael of Washburn and Rodney Carmichael and Harley Carmichael both of Castle Hill; daughters, Vernna Alley of Caribou, Annette Keenan of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Norma Jean Sharp of Castle Hill, Linda Tarbox of Georgia and Pearl Moyer of Deltona, FL; a brother, Perley McEachern and his wife Rilla of New Brunswick, Canada; sisters, Marion Cochran and her friend Wayne Green of Oakland and Joyce Savoy and her husband Clarence of Farmington; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her little dog companion “Bear” will also sadly miss her.
    Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Lucy Lovley officiating. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service. Interment was in the South Side Cemetery in Mapleton.
