A very visible sign of the approaching autumn is that of the six-acre design and maze found at Goughan’s Strawberry Farm, located on the Fort Fairfield Road in Caribou.

Image      This year’s design features the cornfield version of owners, Mark and Gloria Goughan, in addition to the maze. This is the fourth year for the maze, which can attract up to 500 people each weekend, and approximately 2,500 people overall, while its open.
There are three trail levels within the maze. Currently only the bunny trail is open, but the Goughan’s hope to have the intermediate and expert trails open this weekend.
There are also four games available at different points throughout the maze.
Those who complete the maze and the games win a free ice cream cone.
The maze takes about an hour to complete, so even though the farm is open until 5 p.m, the Goughan’s will stop admitting people into the maze an hour before closing. The maze is open for adventurers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Upon arrival, fo to the ice cream bar for more information and directions on how to get to the maze.
