Houlton — Joseph Donovan has been in Boston for some time and entered Harvard Medical School. Real Estate — Mr. James McNutt has sold the two houses he built on the Highlands to McCluskey brothers.
Caribou — Mr. A.W. Spaulding of Caribou and his chauffeur, Walter Yates, were in Houlton Sunday evening coming by auto on their way to Portland.

Anniversary — The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Curran was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Atherton. Maurice Duff presented Mr. Curran being the oldest resident in Hodgdon with “the gold headed cane”.
Thanksgiving Proclamation — I, Franklin D. Roosevelt, President of the United States of America, do set aside and appoint Thursday, the thirtieth day of November 1933, to be the day of thanksgiving for all our people.
Waterville — The main highway from Waterville to Augusta by way of Winslow was once more opened to traffic Monday after being blocked since early Sunday evening, when 15 freight cars of the Maine Central Railroad piled up after the locomotive had struck a stalled automobile on the track.

Wedding Reception — Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hiltz entertained at their home on School Street on Saturday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Swimm, whose marriage had taken place earlier in the evening at the home of Roland B. Atchison, who performed the wedding ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Hiltz were attendants.
Hodgdon — Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Quint and their son Michael of Old Town were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Quint and of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis of Houlton.
Hammond — The Jolly Seven Club met last week with Mrs. Kenneth McIver, Mrs. Daisy Crawford of Bangor and Mrs. Alton Snell as guests.
Mars Hill — Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Stone and daughter, Heidi of Mars Hill were weekend guests of her grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Kilgore.

Bridgewater — Louis F. Finnemore of Bridgewater was the recipient of the Robert Evans Outstanding Citizen Award made during the annual meeting at Presque Isle. The award honors the memory of Robert Evans, a former extension agent in Fort Kent.
In Europe — Mrs. Pauline Hand accompanied by Mrs. Priscilla Perry of Portland had a trip recently to Europe.
Monticello — The Busy Bees Club met at the Senior Citizens rec room. Glenna Briggs gave two readings, and members tacked quilts.
Houlton — Town and Country Clothing Store marks its 60th year. Eugene Hutchinson, Bernard Hannan and Leigh Stewart were partners for many years in the Town and Country Store.
Katahdin — Paula Richards was one of several speakers, who participated in the Health Seminar at Katahdin High School.
