HOULTON – Educators and students at all levels seeking courses toward teacher certification or recertification will find dozens to choose from at University College at Houlton this January. Courses will be taught by University of Maine System faculty at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Students may choose from courses taught by instructors on-site, online and via interactive television at the center and at sites in Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Dyer Brook and Danforth. The schedule includes courses such as Teaching Mathematics in the Elementary School and Response to Intervention Methods for General and Special Education. Courses in special education, early childhood education, elementary and secondary education and telecommunication are a regular part of the schedule.
"We are glad to offer so many excellent courses for teacher certification and recertification in our community," said Chuck Ames, Director of University College at Houlton. "These courses allow people who can't commute to a university access to the same high quality courses enjoyed by campus students."
