A CHANCE ENCOUNTER with a pair of ‘lucky’ snowshoes during this year’s Sportsman’s Show in Presque Isle is what Blaire Pryor and his mother, Alice Pryor, of New Brunswick, are crediting for their luck in winning a new television.
Blair, a fan of President Barrack Obama’s, learned at the show that Brian Theriault, of Fort Kent, had created a pair of snowshoes for the President and wanted to check them out. Theriault told the boy and his mother the shoes would bring luck to anyone who touched them. Alice said she didn’t entirely believe the notion but she and her son touched the set anyway. To their amazement, just a few minutes after doing so, Alice’s name was drawn as the lucky winner of an RCA television during the event’s moose-calling competition. Here, Theriault is pictured with Alice holding the snowshoes, as Blair peeks over the TV box.
