OPEN FOR BUSINESS — Josh Holcombe has opened the Solid Rock Health Center at 80 Main Street in Houlton. He has a degree in athletic training and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Holcombe is ready to guide you to a slim, trim and healthy physique.
Holcombe worked for a year at a local fitness center to gain experience; his ultimate goal to have his own business. That opportunity came this spring and with a coat of fresh paint and a variety of exercise equipment he has opened the doors for business.
He offers low rates and special discounts for families, groups and members of service units such as the fire department, police force, Border Patrol and others.
Holcombe specializes in personal training for individuals. He has the expertise to target problem areas and to set up a program for improvement.
“Keeping your body in shape is important to your health,” said Holcombe. Many athletes make the mistake of waiting until the sports season to start training, when in fact one should start months ahead and be ready.”
He offers exercise and strengthening programs for high school students through adults and also offers dietary analysis. Holcombe is also in the process of setting up a Step Class with others to follow. One is never too old to introduce exercise and good eating habits into a lifestyle, he said.
Holcombe also stocks a variety of popular sports supplements, in the form of protein powder or protein bars.
The fitness center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Just drop in to meet Holcombe or call 521-1277 to set up an appointment to discuss your specific questions.
