LIVELY WATER – Above, Registered Maine Guide Tammi Matula, stern, and student Liz Gilman enjoyed lively water on the Bonaventure River on a recent outing with the East Grand School, as did Cleve Kenyon and Mitchell Bartlett, left. Five East Grand high school students took part in a week-long whitewater canoe trip on the Bonaventure River in Quebec. While on the trip, each student became leader for a day allowing them to put into practice skills learned throughout the year. The outing was sponsored by the 21st Century after school program. Participating students were Cleve Kenyon, Elizabeth Gilman, Mitchell Bartlett, Ben Latvis and Andrew Gilman. Trip leaders were Dave Conley, Tammi Matula and Naomi Gillette.
