So much to do, so little time

To the editor:
Where were you this past week? This was the official “winter carnival” weekend in Caribou (although the programs have morphed a bit into “Caribou is Fabulous in February”). We looked forward all year to working the Chocolate Festival at the Wellness Center, and of course, consuming our fair share of chocolate. The Lionesses had Ladies Night Out, BPW had the Monte Carlo Night, the Rec had the Sweetheart Dance, and TAMC had their Hearts Ball for the adults Saturday evening at the Caribou Inn, so it was a good weekend: peace, love, dancing and chocolate!
This Friday is the Keystone Kops Day, so be thinking and plotting who you’ll have arrested for this really good cause! This is one of the largest fund-raisers each year for the Caribou Kiwanis Club. Go forth and arrest!
Next week is National FFA Week, and the City Council has also proclaimed Feb. 20th the 27th FFA Week as well! We need to celebrate our agriculture, and I hope if you see some young FFA folks you’ll congratulate them on their participation, and tell them we’re proud of them.
The week after next we’re going to be out of the office a few days during the Junior Cross Country Olympics: timing I hear. We’re looking forward to it, and participating with the Aroostook contingent to welcome the athletes (400-plus) and their coaches, and parents! While I’m a bit worried I may not own the right clothing to stand outside all day timing, I might know a cold winter specialist who could help me out, and we’re anxious to be part of what should be a great event for The County.
Finally, we’re so glad we had the opportunity to participate in the Chocolate Festival, and if you didn’t get a chance to go this year, by the goodness you need to plan/mark your calendars now for 2011, it is entirely too cool to miss! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication Nancy Chandler, and everyone else with CCDM, your commitment is a model for our young people!
Remember, Keystone Kops Friday: too funny!
